About
Helping Homeless Women
Taste & See Tea Room began in 2003 as a way to raise funds for a local women’s shelter in Spokane,WA.
This was done by opening a tea room where the public could come and enjoy an afternoon tea with friends and family, and hear about the lives that were being transformed at the shelter. By 2005, the location that was used for the tearoom became too small to accommodate the overwhelming success of the ministry. The tea room re-opened in 2008.
Tips and gratuities given by our customers is how our interns are paid. We have had 5 women who have gone through our program. We provide a loving, but structured work environment. Our purpose is to see these women become contributing members of society, and be able to give back to our community.
We Have Moved!
Taste & See has moved to the north side of Spokane.
Taste & See has out grown our location on the lower South Hill. Our new location is 521 E. Holland. We are very excited about the new services we are offering in this new space. We are now offering a “walk-in” area where you do not have to have a reservation. Many of our traditional tea foods are being offered, plus we will be adding some new things. This area is a very relaxed atmosphere.
We are still offering our Full Afternoon Tea. We have a separate section to accommodate those groups. We use the china, crystal and linen napkins with all the trimmings. Call anytime during regular business hours to make a reservation, 9am to 4pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Our reservation seating times are anytime between 11:00 to 1:00. We are not changing our price for this tea. The cost is $20 per person plus sales tax. Our policy for parties of 6 or more is that there is an 18% gratuity. The gratuity goes right back into the ministry. This is how our internship program is funded.
We look forward to seeing our customers again and making new ones.
Thank you for your support of this ministry.
